Summer Camps 2024

ThinkerStudio will be offering Summer Camps starting this 2024 summer season.  These camps will run for 5 days with the option of attending half-day or full-day sessions. Campers will need to bring their own snacks, lunches and water bottles. Supplies are included in the camp cost.
Summer Camps at a glance:
  • Half day option 10:00-12:30 ($150 for week)
  • Full day option 10:00-3:00 ($250 for week)
  • Geared towards ages 6-12 years but not exclusive to those ages.
  • Limited to 12 students.
  • Registration for all summer camps closes June 1.
  • Program activities incorporate art, nature, science and other components that can be messy so make sure to dress child(ren) accordingly.
  • Each student should bring a labeled bottle of water, a snack and a packed lunch (for full day students).
  • The program utilizes both inside and outside areas of ThinkerStudio so please pack sunscreen if needed.
Daily Schedule

9:45-10:00          Arrival

10:00-12:30       Featured Workshop (fiber arts, stop motion, circuits, etc)- Snack time will be provided when needed
12:30-12:45       Pick-up for half-day students
12:30-1:00          Lunch
1:00-3:00            Open Studio/free create and play- Snack time will be provided when needed
3:00-3:15            Pick-up for full-day students
Camp Schedule (dates are subject to change)
Week 1: Creating with Fibers and Fabrics (June 3-7)
Students will explore the art of creating with fibers and fabrics through techniques such as weaving, embroidery, sewing and more. 
Week 2: Creating with Clay (June 17-21)
Students will explore using different tools and techniques to create a variety of clay projects from fun creatures to pottery.
Week 3: Storytelling through Stop Motion Animation (July 15-19)
Students will explore the art of storytelling through an animation process called Stop Motion. With stop motion, students develop a story, create characters, and set up scenes using a variety of materials. Stories are told by a collection of individual pictures and are collaged together to make an animated movie.
Week 4: Creating with Circuits Part 1 (July 29-August 2)
Students will explore what a circuit is, how to create them using a variety of materials. Students will create a variety of projects from the concepts they learn about circuits and their components. In the first part, students will explore conductive and insulative materials through programs such as Squishy Circuits and MakeyMakey.
Week 5: Creating with Circuits Part 2 (August 5-9)
Students will conintue to explore what a circuit is, how to create them using a variety of materials. Students will create a variety of projects from the concepts they learn about circuits and their components. In the second part, students will begin to use some programming components such as micro:bits.

THINKERSTUDIO's Refund Policy:

 

Parents/Guardians who notify ThinkerStudio at least 5 days before a class begins that they are unable to attend the studio are eligible for a 50% refund. NO REFUNDS are given for cancellation less than 5 days before class begins.

 

Credits for monthly tuition are issued under the following circumstances:

- Your child is absent due to illness.

- Your child is required to sit out of the program due to quarantine.

- In the event of an unexpected school closure due to weather, an emergency or natural disaster, including temporary closures due to COVID-19, tuition for that month will not be refunded or discounted.
