ThinkerStudio's Creative Writing Studio incorporates literature, writing, art, and games in hands-on activities that are age appropriate and engaging. We will study different authors and/or illustrators and their writing styles and illustration techniques to help us in our story telling and writing. We will participate in a variety of activities such as games and art activities that will help get students excited about reading and writing.

Creative Writing Studio at a glance:

 

• Program fee is $45/month (Supplies are included in the studio cost).

• Program is held 3 Tuesdays/month from 10:00-11:45.

• Geared towards ages 6-13 years but not exclusive to those ages.

• Limited to 12 students.

• Program activities incorporate art other components that can be messy so make sure to dress child(ren) accordingly.

• Each student should bring a labeled bottle of water and a snack.

 Program Components:

Author/Illustrator Book Study incorporates learning about different authors and illustrators, studying their writing styles, artistic techniques, and how they use them to create meaningful and intriguing stories. 

​

Writing Elements and Styles incorporate learning about the elements and styles that writers use in creating stories such as character development, plot, setting, verbal illustrations, narrative perspective and story format.  We will study other authors to help us learn about and develop our own writing styles.

Storytelling Production incorporates studying a variety of ways that people can tell stories such as word of mouth, plays, song and dance, animation, books, magazines and so much more. We will use some these different forms of producing stories to share our stories with families and friends.
